A Global Town Hall Livestream for PTC’s First Gene Therapy
After more than a decade of work, PTC Therapeutics won approval for its first gene therapy. We built a studio inside the company’s offices in Zug, Switzerland.

The Challenge They Came With
In July 2022, the European Commission approved PTC Therapeutics’ gene therapy for AADC deficiency, a rare genetic disorder that severely disables children in their first months of life. It was the first gene therapy for the condition, and PTC had spent more than a decade getting there. The company wanted its whole workforce to feel that moment.
- The people who built the therapy were scattered across five continents
- A celebration with the polish of a broadcast, not just a video call
- The CEO, commenting live from the United States
- The studio had to be built in PTC’s own offices
Who Was on Camera
Six PTC executives and leaders appeared in the Zug studio, hosted by the company’s own people.
We set the room up to feel calm rather than technical and held the schedule tight enough that nobody was left waiting.

The Hard Part
An office is not a studio. There’s no rigging, no blackout, no space built for cameras. And people are still working in it.
The date was set, and a printed set has a lead time: the design has to be signed off well before anyone can see the room it will stand in. So we fixed the plan early and built against it.

What Came Out of It
70% of PTC’s global workforce watched the livestream.
For a voluntary internal event, that’s a high turnout. The people who had spent more than a decade on the therapy were celebrated in front of everyone they work with, and PTC kept the recording for the colleagues in time zones that made the live show impossible.
