72-Hour Non-Stop Conference for 3,000 Attendees

IxDA had to bring its global community together without a venue. EVERYWOW turned three days into one non-stop live broadcast from its studio in Zurich.

At a Glance

IxDA’s annual conference went fully online in March 2022. EVERYWOW produced the whole conference as one 72-hour broadcast: 24 hours of content a day, structured in three 8-hour blocks so the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions each caught the program live.

The Challenge They Came With

IxDA’s conference had always been an in-person event. For 2022, it had to go fully online and still feel like being there for a community in every time zone. So the conference ran as a livestream out of EVERYWOW’s studio.

  • 72 hours of continuous content, across three full days, non-stop.
  • One stream for all regions: the Americas, EMEA, and APAC.
  • Around 30 speakers joining remotely.
  • The bar was the in-person editions before it: substantial talks to a high standard.

Who’s on Camera

Around 30 speakers, dialing in from all over the world, and the conference hosts anchoring the program from EVERYWOW’s studio. A mix of live talks and pre-recorded sessions, tied together with live speaker Q&A.

Speaking to a live global audience over a remote link requires special skills: no room to read, and a connection you don’t control. EVERYWOW coached and briefed every speaker in advance on how to be as engaging as possible, so that when they went live they could deliver an outstanding performance and depth to their content.

How It Ran

EVERYWOW took the entire technical production and built the show around IxDA’s program. IxDA chose the content and brought the speakers.

What IxDA Did

  • Chose the program and selected the speakers
  • Signed off on the schedule and the run-of-show
  • Coordinated with the two hosts of the conference

What EVERYWOW Did

  • The 72-hour broadcast concept and run-of-show
  • A studio hub, hosting the show with speakers dialing in worldwide
  • Content development with the keynote speakers, shaping the show’s storyline
  • Balancing live and pre-recorded talks with live speaker Q&A
  • Sound design and motion graphics
  • Extensive coaching for every remote speaker
  • A follow-the-sun crew running the broadcast around the clock
  • Editing the talks into finished videos for attendees and, later, the public

Before

Production Concept

We designed 72 hours of live television before anyone went on air.

Six Weeks of Planning

Six weeks mapping the 72-hour program with IxDA, each talk placed as live or pre-recorded.

Three Blocks, Three Regions

24 hours of content a day, in three 8-hour blocks, so the Americas, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific each caught the program live.

Every Speaker Briefed

Every remote speaker walked through their segment in advance, so going live held no surprises.

Live

Recording & Production

72 hours, hosted live from EVERYWOW’s studio.

The Studio Hub

The conference was hosted from EVERYWOW’s studio, with around 30 speakers joining live from around the world.

Live and Recorded, Mixed

Live talks and pre-recorded sessions mixed with dedicated Q&A on each block.

Follow the Sun

A crew handing off in shifts, keeping the stream unbroken for 72 hours straight.

After

Asset Delivery

The talks didn’t disappear when the stream ended.

The Deliverables

Edited, and handed over ready to share.

  • Every talk cut into a finished video
  • The conference, extended past the live moment

The Hard Part

72 hours is three full days of live television with no off switch. No single crew can run that alone.

So the show ran follow-the-sun: as one shift’s region wound down, the next took over the live broadcast, a planned handoff that kept the show running without a break.

  • Every remote speaker coached and briefed
  • 72 hours on air
  • Shifts handing the live show off mid-broadcast
  • One live program landing for the whole time

What Came Out of It

More than 3,000 people watched the 72-hour broadcast live, across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC.

It looked and ran like a professional TV show, and it did what the in-person conference always did: brought the community together, with people chatting and trading ideas across the field.

And it didn’t end when the stream did. EVERYWOW delivered the talks into finished videos, so the conference kept reaching people long after the 3 days were over.

In Their Words

72h Non-Stop Conference

for IxDA

ยซThe EVERYWOW team understood our challenges right away and always actively proposes solutions and ways to improve. This doesn’t end with technical aspects, but also includes content and presentation. Highly recommended partner.ยป
