Full Spectrum

The theme of the 2024 event in Zurich

The Challenge They Came With

Full Spectrum was built around range: 10 speakers with almost nothing in common except that each was worth hearing, on the big Kongresshaus Zurich stage.

  • Consistent production quality across 10 very different talks.
  • A large stage to light without losing the speaker.
  • Every talk filmed to the standard TEDx is known for.
  • Talks edited fast, online while attention was high.

Target Group

Full Spectrum was made for people who follow ideas wherever they lead.

  • Leaders, specialists, and the simply curious
  • Zurich and the wider Swiss public
  • The global TED audience on YouTube

A speaker presents on stage during a TEDx Zurich event, focusing on negotiation skills for life. The backdrop displays the title 'Negotiation Skills for Life: How to Succeed When It Matters Most' and the speaker appears engaged with the audience.

Who Was on Camera

Ten speakers, no two alike: an FBI-trained negotiator, a marketing provocateur, a psychologist on family secrets, a scientist reinventing fragrance, and Kristen Pressner, whose talk became the edition’s most-watched. Each got its own treatment; all belonged to one show.

How It Ran

TEDxZurich chose the speakers and set the running order. EVERYWOW filmed every talk and coordinated the production with the venue’s technology partner and the TEDxZurich team.

What TEDxZurich Did

The Hard Part

Full Spectrum lived up to its name. Ten very different talks on one production quality level.

EVERYWOW ran six cameras and put each speaker’s slides beside a live close-up on the big screen. That went straight into the edit, so what the audience saw is what the online viewer sees.

  • A big Kongresshaus stage, made visible on screen
  • A roving wireless camera for close, moving shots
  • Consistent quality across 10 very different talks
  • A fast edit, out while the audience was still watching

What Came Out of It

The talks drew more than 700,000 combined views on YouTube, and one of them, Kristen Pressner’s, passed half a million on its own.

A TEDx talk lasts beyond its evening, on video. Shot and cut well, these 10 kept finding viewers long after the Kongresshaus lights went down.
