The Challenge They Came With
IxDA wanted the Interaction Awards to be a global moment its community could join from anywhere. The people it celebrated and the audience were everywhere, so the ceremony went online, as one virtual live show.
- Host, co-chairs, and finalists, scattered across time zones.
- Winners announced live, on camera.
- Live and pre-recorded segments joined with no visible seam.
- It had to hold a global audience the way a live event does.

Who It Reached
The show had to reach IxDA’s community wherever they were, and make each person feel part of the night.
- Interaction and user experience (UX) designers worldwide
- Design students and emerging practitioners
- The wider IxDA community across 200 local groups
- Anyone who cares about design excellence, watching live from anywhere

Who’s on Camera
On camera were the people the night was about: the host, the two co-chairs, and 40 finalists, with 11 winners revealed live among them. All of them appeared remotely, from studios and offices around the world.
EVERYWOW briefed and coached each of them beforehand, set their shot and their cue, and directed them through the show, so that on the global broadcast they looked and sounded like they belonged on it.
How It Ran
EVERYWOW took over the entire production. IxDA and its community brought the people, the schedule, and the awards; everything that turned those into a live broadcast was ours.
